CHARACTER
Name: Jack Frost
Canon: Rise of the Guardians
Age: 16
Specialty: Invisibility
Position: Senior Camper

Personality:
"You're all hard work and deadlines, and I'm snowballs and funtimes. I'm not a Guardian."

Jack Frost is like any other teenager. He suffers from bouts of angst, is mischievous and a risk taker, not to mention a fun loving trickster. He just happens to be immortal. He has little regard for rules and responsibilities, but there is much more to him than the appearace he presents to the world. Jack is pretty much known for making messes and causing havoc, taking no notice of the consequences his actions might bring. He relies mostly on his wit and charisma, along with his skills in Parkour his lightfootedness, to keep him from getting caught. However, none of his pranks and trickery have any ill will behind them. He's not out to hurt anyone or get people killed, and Jack knows when he takes things too far.

"If there's something I'm doing wrong, could you just tell me what it is? Because I've tried...everything! And...no one ever sees me! ... You put me here! The least you can do is tell me- tell me why..."

There is, however, a deep seated loneliness and bitterness within Jack, which he covers under his carefree personality. He's never known where he's truly belonged, and to suddenly be chosen as a Guardian leaves him boiling at the fact that the Man in the Moon didn't talk to him directly, a resentment having been built up over the years since his creation. He takes it out on the Guardians since he doesn't have a way to yell at the Man in the Moon directly, until Bunny counters him with "None of them believe in ya. Do they?". In many ways, Jack is still a child despite being a teenager, prone to throwing tantrums when things become too much and going quiet when he's moody.

"If one little kid can ruin Easter, then...we're in worse shape than I thought."

Despite this, Jack is generous and gentle when it comes to kids. He's pretty much dedicated his whole life and thereafter to children, even before recovering his memories, protecting them first at the cost of his own life and then some. When the situation seems dire, he focuses on making fun of the situation, such as throwing a snowball at Pitch when he closes in on them. All Jack really wants is family and a sense of belonging; the idea that he might become someone like Pitch is something that scares him, and in the end he gets a new family, with both the Guardians and his first believers.

"Who are you, Jack Frost? What is your center?"

As previously mentioned, Jack covers up dire situations by making fun of what's happening. If he can turn something into a joke then it will be made so, even if it's at his own expense. Humor is a defense he's spent years putting up, superficial responses when it comes to things that he should be taking more seriously, such as his Guardianship ("After three hundred years this is his answer? To spend eternity like you guys cooped up in some hideout thinking up new ways to bribe kids?"). Jack puts up a front as a way to conceal his fears of being abandoned if he keeps his hopes up, that if he takes on Guardianship he'll be just as lonely as before, but really? He's as kind hearted as they come, going the extra distance to make someone smile even in dark times.

His center?

Fun.

AU History:
Jack was found as an eight year old boy in the Himalayas near West Bengal by a Psychomaster almost as legendary as Ford Cruller himself known as Tsar Lunar. The boy didn't know who he was or where and what had happened and his hair was a stark white, like freshly fallen snow. Upon entering his mind, Tsar found that, indeed, his memory had been locked up, possibly for a good reason, along with evidence of the boy's innate psychic abilities. Without any parents or relatives to give the boy back to, he kept him by his side for a while before sending him off to Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp for the first time with only the name he had given him - Jack Frost.

From the second he stepped foot into camp, Jack was a trouble maker. Still young, he could pull off the innocent act and pin the blame on the older campers, which often lead to him getting away with things that left him with a fair few enemies. A certain noodle incident that's simply referred to as '68 happened the summer he was nine that isn't talked about. As Jack began to grow and develop his powers, it became clear that he was adept in some things while in others he was not. Invisibility became a specialty, closely followed by Levitation.

Unfortunately for Jack, Tsar Lunar - or Manny, as he'd picked up the nickname other Psychonauts called him by - was unable to continue looking after him due to his Psychomaster duties and, in the interest of keeping the boy under a watchful eye, he was set up with a foster family residing in a Psychonaut agent apartment complex. The family itself had a young girl of their own but were more than happy to take Jack off his hands and Jack, in turn, was happy to have someone near his age to play with, taking on the role of big brother easily.

As he grew comfortable living with the Overlands, Jack started to think that maybe things weren't so bad now. He started talking more, having been a bit of a quiet one when Tsar Lunar had first met him, opening up to the people who he was able to call mother and father without much of a problem. Due to his foster parents being away on a mission, he missed out on camp the summer that the brain stealing happened, but returned the following year, and the next year and the year after that.

Jack shot up in height, taking on a lanky appearance while remaining thin as a rail but still healthy as anything. As a senior camper, he takes on the big brother roll to younger campers, even if he does spend an unhealthy amount of time pulling pranks with his fellow Pyro Cats, but he remains adamant not to prank anyone under 12. Their poor little hearts couldn't take it. Jack's short lived friendship with Edwin Aster Bunnymund is a bit of a sore spot with him, but he attempts to keep their encounters to a minimum, if only for the fact that he doesn't want to cause their mutual friend Tatiana Tooth any more heartbreak.

Brain World:
Jack's brain world is a winter wonderland. Quite literally! It's a snow covered city, buildings towering overhead and a slick of ice down the main street that acts like a slide. The ice slide leads into a clover leaf that goes under a bridge, stopping as it leads to a frozen lake in what appears to be a suburban establishment. Jack's brain world is quite simple, but a ton of fun.

Jack himself takes on the appearance of a boy with brown hair, shawl draped around his shoulders and barefooted like how he usually is around camp, carrying a shepherd's staff. Figments take on the appearance of ice fairies and yetis while the censors are snowmen with sharp icicles for teeth and claws for hands. Cobwebs are usually found littered around emotional baggage that can range from purses to suitcases depending, a sure sign that Jack does not want to remember the time before he was found by Tsar Lunar.

Sample 2:
Setting something on fire wasn't usually something Jack was fond of, but then again Pyrokinesis wasn't his specialty. In fact, it was actually pretty hard for him to produce fire with his psychic abilities. Pyrokinesis was one of his weaker powers - the weakest actually. For some reason Jack had never been able to produce more than a headache, let alone a spark of flame.

Of course, since taking up the challenge Bunny had set him on orientation day, he actually had to live up to his end of the bargain. No big deal. Or it wouldn't be if he could just get this damn tree branch on fire. Baby Tooth, the small hummingbird that took presence at his side each summer, chirped encouragement from her seat on his shoulder, fluffing her wings.

"I know, I know," he snapped at her after a good fifteen minutes of trying to make anything - a spark, a flame - appear. At the very least, he could maybe smell a little smoke...oh no wait, that was coming from the Lodge. Jack gave a small sigh and slumped forward against the table, the small branch being pushed out of the way in favor of his forehead pressing on the top.

"Stupid Bunny. Stupid Pyrokinesis. Stupid camp."
